Rom-com “Juliet, Naked”, starring Rose Byrne, Ethan Hawke, and Chris O’Dowd, debuted last month at Sundance Film Festival. A story about music and fandom, the movie is the latest adaptation of one of writer Nick Hornby’s books. Essayist, novelist, screenwriter – even lyricist with his 2010 collaboration with Ben Folds – Hornby has a style that is completely recognizable and unique, while all-the-while remaining accessible. The challenge to Hornby’s writing is not the plotlines, but the characters, who are not always “good” or “likable” but consistently feel like heroes you should root for. In celebration of the new Hornby-inspired film, here’s a guide to his other adaptations so you can enjoy his stories in every available way.
